Straw hats
Straw summer hats are more than just an accessory – they are an homage to light, lightness, and joie de vivre. They capture the warmth of the sun, provide soft shade, and lend a natural elegance to every appearance. The interplay of fine weaves and airy transparency creates a style that is both timeless and modern.
A carefully woven straw hat bears the hallmarks of traditional craftsmanship. In your hands, it takes shape as an individual masterpiece, reflecting character and personality. The supple fibers are molded, shaped, and refined – creating a unique piece that evokes summer dreams while offering sophisticated protection.
Under the guidance of renowned hat designer Fiona Bennett, you will discover how extraordinary details are created from fine straw, delicate ribbons, or colorful yarns. You will experience how classic techniques and creative experiments combine to transform a natural material into a striking statement piece for sunny days.
Whether as a creative break for oneself, as a stylish team building experience or as an original gift – this workshop combines craftsmanship and glamour with sustainability and becomes a special experience.
Craftsmanship is an advantage, but prior knowledge is not required – only openness to new things and enjoyment of design.
Book early, places are limited.

The photos shown here were taken at previous autumn and winter workshops held at Café Drei Kaehne in the Petzow Palace Gardens. At that time, we worked indoors with vintage felt.
However, the next workshops will take place outdoors in the palace gardens and will focus on working with straw. Please bear in mind that you can expect a different setting and different materials. The photos are intended only to give a general impression of past events.
We will be offering the vintage felt workshops again during the winter season.
